CAITLIN MCCARTHY

Caitlin McCarthy is an interior designer based in Downtown LA.

The daughter of an interior designer and a building developer, she didn’t always plan to go into the family business. From Boulder, CO, Caitlin moved to Los Angeles at 15 to be an actress and portray a leading character on a network television show. Simultaneously, she designed a line for a high-end children’s clothing brand, and later, she put herself through design school as an international hand model. Caitlin attended FIDM to study interior design, where she honed her skills and explored the historic and current significance of space and design.

Upon graduation, Caitlin worked for furniture design house, Alexandra Von Furstenberg, refining her taste for chic modern. She also co-founded and grew Caitlin & Caitlin, a design company and visual brand with her longtime friend and FIDM classmate before starting her own firm, Caitlin McCarthy Design. Caitlin’s dedication to design is born out of a passion for well-considered lifestyles and she makes it her mission to develop environments that inspire spontaneity, incite conversations, and offer retreat.

Caitlin McCarthy is the winner of HGTV's "Fresh Faces of Design Awards" and has been named "designer to watch" by Rue Magazine.
